Crockpot Hot Spiced Sangria

Here is another party punch recipe for the crockpot...great for any occasion and will warm your soul :)

Ingredients:

2 bottles (750 ml ea) Roja (Spanish red wine) or any red wine you like
1 cup brandy
1 bag of frozen cherries
1 bag of frozen peaches
1 orange, sliced
2 cinnamon sticks
1 cup simple syrup (recipe below)
orange peal

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Put setting on high for 1 hour, reduce to warm to hold temperature. When serving ladle into glasses and garnish with orange peal.

*recipe for simple syrup

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 orange zested

Combine all 3 ingredients in saucepan, bring to boil and reduce to simmer for 5 minutes, or until
sugar is dissolved.

Caprese Salad

This is a great change of pace salad. Perfect for summer.

Ingredients:

1 lemon, juiced
1 cup basil leaves (abour 20)
1 small clove of garlic, grated or minced
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup bite size mozzarella balls, drained and halved
salt and pepper

Directions:

1. Combine juice, garlic, and basil in food processor, then stream in olive oil, to form smooth dressing.
2. Combine tomatoes, cheese, and dressing in bowl and season with salt and pepper to taste.

White Sangria

Very light,refreshing to serve for company. Also great to have with fish.


Ingredients:

1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine
1 cup thawed orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup thawed lemonade concentrate
1/3 cup thawed lineade concentrate
1 navel orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 lime, sliced
3 cups club soda, chilled

Directions:

Stir together first 4 ingredients. Stir in half of fruit slices. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Stir in club soda just before serving. Serve over ice with remaining fruit slices.

Cranberry Sangria

A very nice twist on sangria...very light, refreshing.

Ingredients:

1 quart (4 cups) cranberry juice
3 cups dry, white wine
2 tbl plus 2 tsp orange flavored liquer
1 orange sliced
1 lemon sliced
1 lime sliced
1 cup club soda

Directions:

1. In large pitcher, mix cranberry juice, wine, liquer, and fruit.
2. Add club soda and stir once to mix.

**makes 2 quarts

White Sangria

This is very light, refreshing, switch on sangria, using white wine. Try it, you'll really like it.

Ingredients:

3 bottles (750 ml) dry, white wine
1/2 cup triple sec or other orange liquer
1 & 1/2 cup orange juice (with NO pulp)
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
6 tbl sugar (or to taste)
4 ripe peaches, cut into thin wedges
2 pint (12 ounces each) stawberries-sliced
1 each-lemon, lime, orange-cut in thin, halfmoon slices
1 golden delicious apple- cut in thin wedges
2 trays ice cubes

Directions:

1. Stir in first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, until sugar dissolves, then refrigerate to chill.
2. One hour before serving-pour mixture into pitcher (s), add fruit & refrigerate.
3. Just before serving, add ice to pitchers.

**This recipe makes 22 cups

Sangria

Excellent and easy. This recipe makes 24 (4 ounce) servings, from a pitcher or punch bowl.

Ingredients:

2 oranges
2 lemons
2 fifths (1.5 ltr) burgandy or other red wine
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup (2 ounces) brandy
1 apple
1 (28 ounce) bottle carbonated water-chilled

Directions:

1. Chill 1 orange and 1 lemon for garnish.
2. Squeeze juice from second lemon and orange.
3. Place juices, wine, sugar and brandy in large bowl or pitcher. Stir to dissolve sugar.
4. Chill, then just before serving, cut chilled orange into wedges and lemon into circles.
5. Core apple and cut into wedges.
6. Slowly add chilled carbonated water.
7. Can also add maraschino cherries.
