Cocktail Meatballs

This is a recipe my Mother started making in the seventies, and everyone loved them. But they were shocked to find out that 2 of the ingredients were chili sauce and grape jelly.

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup minced onion
1/4 cup milk
1 tbl parsley
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp worchesteshire sauce
1/4 cup shortening
1 (12 ounce) bottled chili sauce
1 (10 ounce) jar grape jelly
1 egg

Directions:

1. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, worchestershire, and gently shape into cocktail size meatballs.
2. Melt shortening in large skillet, brown meatballs, then remove. Pour off fat.
3. Heat chili sauce and grape jelly in skillet, stirring occaisonally until jelly is melted.
4. Add meatballs and stir until thoroughly coated, simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
