My grandfather always use to make what he called "chocolate cows", or root beer floats. This recipe is a twist on his old fashioned desert drink, except that it is made into a cake!
Ingredients:
-1 (18-18.25-ounce) package of German chocolate cake mix
-1 1/4 cups of root beer (either diet or regular)
-1/4 cup of vegetable oil
-2 large eggs
-Root Beer Frosting (ingredients at bottom)
Directions:
-1. Take the first four ingredients and mix them together in a mixing bowl. (use electric mixture at a low speed until the gry ingredients are moistened.
-2. Pour the batter into a greased and floured pan (13-x 9-inch pan).
-3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-4. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then frost the cake with Root Beer Frosting
Root Beer Frosting

-7 tablespoons root beer (either diet or regular)
-3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa
-1 (16-ounce) package of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions:
-1. Bring the first three ingredients to a boil in a good size saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the butter melts.

* If you want a bigger taste of sugar and you're using the diet root beer for your cake, add about two teapoons of Splenda.
